The lambda sensor is generally positioned on the exhaust muffler between the exhaust manifold and the catalytic converter. Its measurements enable the injection computer to determine the air-fuel mixture for optimum engine efficiency.
As the quantity of oxygen in the air can vary greatly depending on the geographical location, the engine load, or even climatic factors such as the atmospheric pressure, the air and engine temperature, etc.
