There are 2 main types of filter for petrol-driven vehicle:
- Filters for vehicles with a carburettor: the filter retains particles measuring more than 20 microns. they protect the injectors against impurities, thereby avoiding any difficulties when starting and preventing the engine from working incorrectly.
- Filters for injection vehicles: this system is much more sensitive to impurities than the carburettor-based system. The filters are therefore more active and the filtration quality is 5-7 microns.
On an electronic injection vehicle, the filter must also withstand a pressure of 6 bar, necessary to atomise the fuel
